TITLE: Competencies for the Big Picture: The 8Rs Canadian Library Human Resource Study

Libraries are at a pivotal point of change with expanded services, new technologies, changes in scholarly publishing, and the resulting shift in staff competencies.

Ernie Ingles, chair of the 8Rs Canadian Library Human Resource Study research team, will present findings from two years of investigation into organizational and individual perspectives on library human resources. The presentation will identify the personal and professional competencies necessary that will serve users today, and that will continue to build libraries for the future.
